CARE TIPS

Before deep diving into our care tips, we want to first provide a few reminders:

1. It is normal for Jewelry to show signs of time. No matter the quality or type of metals that we provide to you here at Made Dainty Hawaii, there will be wear and tear. However, the more that you look after your jewelry, the better it will age.

2. Quality does not mean that you shouldn't pay attention. As any jewelry, even the most precious metals can get damaged.

Cleaning your Jewelry:

Frequency: Every month and/ or as soon as necessary.

HOW?

A mild soap and warm water concoction should do the trick. Take a small soft-bristled toothbrush or eyelash spoolie and gently scrub in the crevices of gems/cubic zirconia diamonds. Rinse & wipe dry with a microfiber cloth.

1. Wipe dry your jewelry. We strive to ensure that your jewelry remains tarnish free by using thick microns of gold plating, 14K gold filled or 925 Sterling silver metals. This means that you are able to wash your hands, take a shower, or take a dip in the ocean. However, please ensure that you are properly taking care of your jewelry after you endure all of the water activities in your life by wiping your piece dry. If you've exposed your piece to salt water, rinse your piece with clean-fresh water first and then wipe dry.

2. Avoid Chemicals. Believe it or not, activities as simple as gardening, washing dishes or swimming in a chlorinated swimming pool are not always a good match for ANY jewelry piece. Yes, even the ones that you buy from Kays Jewelry or Jareds. If you know that you will come into contact with any chemical product, it's so simple to remove your jewelry to avoid unnecessary tarnishing or damage to your piece.

3. Understand your metals. We value our choice in metals and do our best to ensure that your piece remains timeless however, what folks don't understand is that Silver requires maintenance. Due to the unique acidity levels in body composition of human kind, Silver metals can oxidize and darken turning black in a short time. If you find that this happens, we recommend our 14k gold filled jewelry options.
